The project objectives were to provide an internet-based application, that enabled a bundling of the different investment projects of the various countries and legal entities. Additionally, the already existing investment projects should be migrated into the new application.
The function of the application is to make automatic plausibility checks (e.g. a warning for values exceeding plan). The data entry can be conducted manually or via upload files. Corrections and adjustments to the project information are possible within the data entry period of the current submission. The release of the data then was enabled on local level by a corresponding function after successful release. All worldwide investment programs can now be provided to the persons responsible in the headquarters within the given timeframe.
The implemented solution offers the following advantages:
- a single data communication platform for all 250 legal entities
- central definition of available master data and project parameters
- consolidation and communication of actuals and planning up and down seven independent functional hierarchies
- integrated user authorization concept
The new developed data communication platform for the management of capital investment programs across the group helped to simplify and speed up the controlling and distribution process. The workload on local and central level was significantly reduced, the reporting deadlines can now be met in only half of the time. Thanks to the flexible solution, new functions like the validation against balance sheet positions could be easily integrated. Additional reporting modules have been developed to support an even quicker process concerning the analysis and distribution of the investment information.
