Microsoft® Analysis Services is the OLAP component of Microsoft SQL ServerTM
2000 .The SQL ServerTM 2000 is based on SQL Server 7.0 and provides additional
web-and e-commerce-functionalities
The Analysis Services component includes a middletier server that enables
the user to generate highly developed web-based analyses and queries
to process high volumes with excellent performance.
The SQL ServerTM Analysis 2000 Services is completely integrated in the Microsoft®
Management Console and - in contrast to other OLAP databases - supports both
relational and multidimensional databases for storing the OLAP aggregations. It
also allows the administrator to change between the databases at any time.
