MIS Alea is a platform for structuring enterprise data to make it available to a large number of users for employment in planning and analysis. The MIS Alea analysis and planning operations are based on so-called „hypercubes “: multi-dimensional data cubes composed of dimensions such as customers, products, strategic business units, months, etc. Within these dimensions various algorithms can be stored, which describe how statements for control purposes are to be generated from the basic data. The hypercubes support not only simple concatenations, such as the combination of products into product groups or strategic business units, but also complex algorithms, such as those required for the allocation of internal administration costs.

Compatibility with various source systems

In order to make the integration into ERP systems as simple as possible, pre-configured interfaces are available for products from important suppliers, such as SAP R/3. Data from systems having an OLE DB for OLAP interface (such as SAP BW) can thus be integrated directly, with no additional effort required for data synchronization.

Refined access principles

At different points in the data hierarchy, various levels of authorization can be assigned to individual users and groups. The key consideration is that these authorizations are administered at the database level, thus enabling them to operate independently of whatever front end may be selected.

Simple implementation and scalability

A single workstation version, with one training session, offers complete functionality at an extremely low cost. This provides the basis for a step-by-step expansion to a professional system for a large number of users.
